This CMT Host Just Came Out As Gay

Cody Alan, a host and personality on Country Music Television and CMT Radio, just came out as gay in a recent interview with People magazine.

"Though my TV or my radio persona was always that of a happy guy, there was this underlying ache inside of me for years, so I decided either I was gonna do something about it, or I was gonna live with this layer of misery underneath that happy face on the TV," the 44-year-old father of two told the celebrity news magazine about his decision to come out of the closet after years of struggling with having to hide his sexuality. "Once I realized it was okay to accept the truth, that it wasn’t my choice, it was a lot easier to start figuring out where to go with my life next."

In an emotional Facebook post to his fans and viewers earlier today, Alan had this to say:

"2017. As we start a new year, there is something I want to share with you. You see, I’m gay. This is not a choice I made, but something I've known about myself my whole life. Through life's twists and turns, marriage, divorce, fatherhood, successes, failures - I've landed on this day, a day when I'm happier and healthier than I’ve ever been. And I’m finally comfortable enough for everyone to know this truth about me. Thanks for following me and supporting me over the years. As we continue our journey, I hope this news won't change how you see me."

Alan's coming out adds much needed queer representation in country music and its media, which is still seen by many as being traditionally conservative. (The likes of country superstars Garth Brooks and Dolly Parton, who are very pro-LGBT, haven't necessarily been able to shake the genre's old-fashioned reputation.) Alan's openness about his sexuality contributes to a positive shakeup within the genre in recent years that includes young out singers like Steve Grand and allies like Kacey Musgraves making country a more inclusive and LGBT-friendly one.

"Country music is so diverse and perhaps the most supportive music industry that exists," Alan told People. "My story’s very real, and that’s what country music is: I live a real life that’s had twists and turns, ups and downs, and it’s kind of a country song in and of itself!"

Now James Corden Is Kissing Bryan Cranston

Another day, another pair of straight male celebrities kissing on camera… It’s been a big week for straight guys kissing beginning with Andrew Garfield and Ryan Reynolds at the Golden Globes and then Andrew and Stephen Colbert sharing a couple of tender kisses on Stephen’s show. Not to be outdone, James Corden gets a couple of kisses in with Bryan Cranston on The Late Late Show with James Corden. Of course, all of this kissing can be viewed as gaybaiting, but there’s also an argument to be made for it normalizing male affection for audiences that don't typically see it. 

Bryan appeared on James’s show with guests Jessica Biel and Giovanni Ribisi, and Bryan kissed James under the auspices of telling the story about how he and his wife of 28 years first got together.

Jessica claimed she was there to watch the two men kiss, while Giovanni was cool at first but then pretended to run for the hills at the sight of male affection.

Whether you think it’s gaybaiting or a good thing, here’s the next round of male celebs (it is Walter White after all) kissing for an audience.

Out Dancer and Choreographer Travis Wall and Shaping Sound Blow Our Minds on Ellen

Ellen DeGeneres is renowned for kicking off her show by dancing, but she sat the dancing out for a show this week to make room for out choreographer and dancer Travis Wall and the cast of Shaping Sound’s After the Curtain.

Wall, who rose to fame as a competitor 11 years ago on So You Think You Can Dance’s second season and subsequently became a choreographer for the show, created the dance company Shaping Sound with Nick Lazzarini, Teddy Forance, and Kyle Robinson. The piece the company performed on Ellen is from the company's latest show After the Curtain, about “…a man fighting to find his creative voice after the death of his one true love,” according to Shaping Sound’s website.

Wall's had a pretty good year. Besides the excellent exposure on Ellen, in March of 2016, he became engaged to his long-time boyfriend Dom Palange, a gymnastics coach at UCLA.

Here he is with the electrifying cast of Shaping Sound’s After the Curtain.

A tweet by a Twitter user by the name of Brianna is going viral, and for a very good (and sexy) reason.

Why, you ask? Well she basically tweeted out the hottest picture ever, showcasing the entirety of the Penn State football team shirtless and flexing after a work out. Here it is, in bigger resolution:

*gulp* Did it suddenly get hot in here for no reason??

As expected, fellow Twitter users wasted no time in voicing their great approval of a room full of sweaty, muscular men, and the resulting tweets were absolutely hilarious.

Yes, the New 'Power Rangers' Movie Looks Totally Badass

Being the good '90s Kids that we are, we've been excited for the Power Rangers movie reboot ever since it was first announced back in 2014. But now, that excitement has been taken to a whole new level with the release of the film's latest trailer. 

While we got a little tease of the film back in October, in this trailer (that was released earlier this morning), we actually get to see some action, with the young cast kicking ass in their revamped yet still colorful Ranger suits. We also finally get to see Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston as Zordon in the clip, but if you ask us, the best part is (hands-down) Elizabeth Banks' super fierce rendition of the quintessential Power Rangers villan Rita Repulsa.

This goes without saying, but we can't wait for Power Rangers' March 24 release date. Watch the full, latest trailer in the video below.

'Riverdale's' Kevin Keller Is Another Gay TV Character for Us to Love

The CW's dark reimagining of the iconic and longstanding Archie comic series—simply entitled Riverdale—premieres tonight, and from the looks of the teaser, it's gonna be good. 

(Have you seen the new Archie, though?! *fans self*)

What makes the prospect of this new show even better is that Kevin Keller, the gay character who was first introduced to the Archie universe in 2010 in the Veronica comic issue #202, is a regular on the show, adding much-welcome LGBT representation to the overall mainstream television landscape.

"He's kind of one of the only characters who is constantly saying the truth," said actor Casey Cott, who playes Kevin in the new CW show. "Most of the time he says things that probably everyone else is thinking too."

X-Men's Iceman FINALLY Gets to Kiss His Boyfriend

The latest issue of the All-New X-Men features a long-awaited same-sex kiss between the hero Iceman and his romantic interest Romeo.

Despite Iceman being a mutant and Romeo being a rival Inhuman, they both obviously have huge feelings for each other, which culminated in the beautifully illustrated (and historic) comic book kiss.

Iceman, who was revealed to be gay in a 2015 issue of the Uncanny X-Men, is part of the Marvel universe's (slow but sure) push to portray and celebrate diversity, and judging by some fans' reactions, the push is much-appreciated.

When asked by BBC Radio about Iceman's coming out in 2015, X-Men creator and legendary comic book writer Stan Lee had encouraging words to say, and was completely fine with it.

"I don't care what happens, as long as they tell good stories...and they do," Lee said.

If Iceman is a sign of what's to come, then we can't wait for the increasing diversity Marvel has in store for the future!

New Conan Game Features an 'Endowment' Slider

Video games have come a long way since Atari released Pong in 1972. In addition to the technological advancements, games have become more progressive and inclusive. The Sims, for example, is touted as the most LGBT-friendly franchise in the world for its inclusion of same-sex marriage, non-traditional families, and mutually-exclusive gender identifiers.

The gaming community is diverse and always evolving. To maintain momentum, designers often create customized experiences for gamers. Sometimes, they take risks and add in-game features that push the limits. The creators of the upcoming open-world survival game Conan Exiles ignored those limits and introduced some unusual tools to their character creator menu.

Yesterday, PC Gamer's Chris Livingston gave Twitter a taste of Conan Exiles' character creation menu. Players can control their character's level of nudity as well as "breast size" and "endowment" with a slider.

As if choosing the size of your dick wasn't amusing enough, Conan Exiles also includes a "Vanity Camera" so you can see your dangle from all angles. Surprisingly, the movement of the anatomy is amazingly realistic. See for yourself.

During yesterday's Super Bowl game (aka one of America's quintessentially most watched sporting events) a new trailer for the modern-day reboot of the hit TV show Baywatch ran, and while we were already expecting some typical shirtlessness from stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Zac Efron, we definitely weren't expecting the latter to rip off his pants and show the world his American flag-themed Speedos. 

Freedom indeed. We'd be lying if we said we weren't happy about it. Lord have mercy. (And God bless America.) *fans self*

We might have to wait until fall comes around before we're able to see the whole thing, but the first teaser trailer for Beach Rats was just recently released, and from the way critics are buzzing about it, it seems like it's going to be a worthwhile watch.

The film premiered at Sundance earlier this year as one of the annual film festival's LGBT-themed offerings, and it has been garnering good reception from audiences and critics for its portrayal of a typical male teen who is starting to come into his own and find out more about his sexuality and identity.

We don't know much about Beach Rats, but our curiosity is definitely piqued. Watch the teaser trailer in the video below.

In his most recent YouTube video, popular gay vlogger Davey Wavey asked a few of his straight male friends to describe a series of dick pics (you know, the unsolicited kind you can often get messaged to you from creepy men on dating apps) to him, and the results were...interesting, to say the least.

When the first Team Thor short was released last year, Marvel fans got a hilarious inside look at what life for Thor (played by our fave Aussie hunk Chris Hemsworth) is like during his off-time, living in a small flat in Australia with his civilian, white collar roommate Darryl. 

Well, after the positive reaction from the first short, it looks like fans are going to be blessed with yet another slice of the Asgardian superhero's everyday life, since the preview of Team Thor: Pt. 2 was just released today! 

In this most recent Team Thor episode, we see Thor trying to pay his half of the rent with Asgardian treasures and coins, which, as Darryl points out, aren't worth anything on Earth. After Darryl suggests that Thor get a job in order to make rent, Thor laughs it off, and nonchalantly flexes his famous (and huge) biceps.

After out, gay actor and Arrow star Colton Haynes posted a romantic photo on his Instagram account on Tuesday night, speculation started swirling all over the internet about what exactly was going on...

From the looks of his Insta post, Colton's boyfriend, artistic director/florist Jeff Leatham, appears to have surprised him with a candlelit meeting on the top of an LA rooftop at sunset, complete with a rose petal heart formation. 

While nothing about an engagement was specifically mentioned by Colton, that didn't stop fans on Twitter from celebrating, and being happy for the uber-emotional encounter that he just had (because, you know, gestures like that don't happen on normal, everyday dates).

Looks like we'll have to wait until Colton and Jeff themselves officially make a statement before we really know what's going on, but as of right now, it's safe to say they had a MUCH better Valentine's Day than most of us...

Out, Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin may have been a lot of gay boys' first celebrity crush in the '90s, but did you ever stop to wonder who his was?

Well, during a recent appearance on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the soon to be married crooner revealed that it was none other than John Travolta, and it was in a very specific, underwear-clad scene of his in the iconic Saturday Night Fever movie that made him first realize that he was gay.

"I saw that movie back then, like, eight times," he recalls to Andy. 

We can't blame you, Ricky. That scene was pretty...intense.
