Being young and being gay is hard enough, but combine that with living in a small, conservative town, and you have a tumultuous situation that’s far from ideal. From coming out to finding love, the struggle is REAL.

Here are 20 things only gay boys from a small town will understand.

1. The nearest Grindr profile is 89 miles away.

2. And that profile is probably a creepy man over the age 60.

3. Long-distance relationships are your only relationships.

4. Everyone knows you—and everyone knows you’re gay.

5. You’re legit the only gay person this town has ever seen.

6. AND if by some miracle from God there is more than one gay person at your school, you’ve all already hooked up and it’s awkward.

7. The smaller your town, the more conservative it is, which makes coming out of the closest an excruciating process.

8. You definitely had that core group of girlfriends you could confide in.

9. Bullying is a very real, very scary thing.

10. Loneliness and isolation are two things you’re now an expert on.

11. The internet is your best friend and you've built a ton of online relationships.

12. And you long to meet your internet friends/lovers in real life.

13. You’ve definitely hooked up in a car and/or public place because hosting someone in your house/town is IMPOSSIBLE.

14. Nightlife is non-existent and gay clubs are a fantasy only seen on TV.

15. Homophobia isn’t your town’s only problem: racism and sexism also run rampant.

16. Your days are consumed by figuring out how the hell you’re gonna get out of this place.

17. And you stress out about how complacent your friends are for potentially living there their entire lives.

18. Driving around is your biggest social activity.

19. That, or doing something in a field and/or woods.

20. You do well in high school in the hopes that you can go to college far away and get the hell outta there...

...and you eventually do! And you don't think twice about it or even bother looking back!

Because shirtless gym selfies aren't going to cut it anymore.

#Dating#Love#SexMen#Guys#Gay#Bisexual#Technologyhow-to-take-the-perfect-dating-app-profile-pic.jpgZachary Zane

A picture is no longer worth a 1,000 words—it's worth all the words. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve swiped right on a guy because he looked handsome and fun in his profile pic. More often than not, I don’t even read what's he's written in his bio. For all I know he could write, "I am serial killer temporarily out on parole. I enjoy eating the brains of babies and gay men." and I would literally still just swipe right without looking and then proceed to slide into his DMs.

There are two things we can learn from this little anecdote: 1.) I should absolutely be more careful about who swipe on, and (most importantly) 2.) many men, like myself, place a much higher value on a prospective hookup's profile pic than they actually care to admit.

Does this mean we, as a community, are shallow? Probably a little (or a lot), but who isn’t? Of course, we only want to date and sleep with people we’re attracted to. There’s nothing immoral about that. We shouldn’t be shamed for not being attracted to everyone. Similarly, we shouldn’t feel obligated to sleep with someone we’re not attracted to.

But I’m getting a little off track here. I don’t want to talk about the beauty issues heavily embedded in the gay community. I want to talk about how to make you look the most attractive, fun, and desirable in your profile pics, knowing how important they are to securing that first date.

Here are some of the big do's and don’ts:

DON'T: Obscure your face

When I see big sunglasses on a guy, I don’t think to myself, "Woah, he’s got a good fashion sense." I actually think to myself, "What is that guy hiding?" This is one of the oldest tricks in the book. Floppy hats. Scuba gear. Big sunglasses. No, no, no, to all of this. We want to see the face that we will potentially be talking to and kissing.

DO: Serve some body-ody-ody

A zoomed in pic of your face gives us an idea of how your face looks, which is great, but we also (without swiping more or asking for additional photos) want to know how your body looks. We don’t just have sex with your face (well, I mean...some men really do), we have sex with all of you. Body included.

DON'T: Have a shirtless gym selfie

Honestly, it’s just not that sexy, and it’s really played out. I’m all for having a shirtless selfie pic on your profile, but as the main picture? Nah. Too basic. Steer clear of this.

DO: Play to your strengths

If you have a great chest and big arms, then maybe a shirtless selfie at the beach is in order. You may not necessarily want to post a pic of you posing and flexing in a Speedo. (You can, but some men might be turned off by it because they find it shallow or too self-absorbed.) But if you’re doing an activity, like playing beach volleyball without your shirt on, and a pic just so happens to reveal your strong abs, chest, shoulders, and arms, that’s a win-win. You’re getting away with showing off without appearing too douche-y.

Similarly, if you have a really nice behind, you should definitely try to somehow incorporate that into the shot as well. Not a zoom-in of your butt, though. Be creative and see if you can subtly get your derriere in the pic.

DON'T: Have anyone else in the pic

It’s awesome that you have friends. Truly, it is. But we’re not trying to date your friends, we’re trying to date you! So make sure to be alone in your profile pics.

DO: Smile or smolder

In other words, a blank, deadless face is a no go. Smiling is completely fine. Giving a sexy smolder is always good. Even giving a ridiculously goofy face is good because it shows you have a fun personality. Just don’t stare blankly into the camera.

DO: Whatever the hell you think will work

These are just guidelines to help you out. Play with it. Try posting more serious photos, fun photos, shirtless photos, suit photos, and see which attracts the most guys. There’s definitely no one correct way to have a killer profile pic for your dating app.

Good luck!!

Many of us have already stayed at home for days on end in an effort to be safe and healthy during this ongoing global pandemic, and although the conditions are not ideal, one of the best things about this weeks-long quarantine is that it has given many of us time to explore our artistic sides and try to create something new. In that creative spirit, Irish actor and Fifty Shades franchise star Jamie Dornan took a break from singing "Imagine" to be an awesome dad and let his daughters dress him up in drag—complete with a red midi dress, a blue wig, and yellow heels. The results, which he shared on his Instagram account, were the unique mix of funny and cute that only a dad could somehow pull off.

And it looks like tons of people were fans of Jamie's "Daddy Drag" look, including fellow actor Armie Hammer, who threw some friendly shade to Jamie about his shoes in the comments section.

annotation_2020-05-11_102224.jpg

"'Dressing up with my daughters' = I have heels in my size and was looking for an excuse to feel like a fierce bitch,"the Call Me by Your Name star said, clocking how perfectly Jamie shoes fit him.

Armie said:

Dornan was a good sport about the whole thing, though, and responded to Armie's shade accordingly:

"Millie has big feet!" he said, saying the shoes belong to his wife Amelia "Millie" Warner.

There's no shame in your heel game, Jamie! Werk those pumps proudly!

Ben Platt and Noah Galvin, two former stars of Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway, are officially dating!

The two have been quarantining together, along with their friend and fellow Broadway star Kathryn Gallagher, in the midst of the ongoing pandemic. Fans have been speculating on the nature of the two actor's relationship for months but Galvin recently confirmed it was more than just a friendship on a friend's podcast.

"Ben and I are dating," Galvin nervously opened up on the Little Known Facts with Ilana Levine podcast. "I asked him this morning, I was like, are we allowed to talk about this? And he’s like, 'Don’t go into our nitty-gritty, but yeah, people can know.' It’s still relatively new."

Platt is most known for his role on Pitch Perfect, as well as the Ryan Murphy-produced Netflix's dramedy The Politician. Galvin starred in Booksmart last year and lead the short-lived, underrated ABC sitcom The Real O'Neals. Both actors played the lead role of Evan in the Tony-Award winning musical, and they're not the only former Evans to end up in a relationship together—Taylor Trensch and Ben Levi Ross did it first.

"I know, it’s so incestuous," laughed Galvin. "But it makes sense, like, we all went through the war together. We all feel very connected."

It's unclear how long the two have been dating, but Galvin turned 26 just last week and revealed the adorable birthday present Platt spent months putting together for him.

"Long story short, Ben made me a birthday video," he said. "Ben very sweetly for the past, like, probably three months, has been putting together this video for me. It’s all my favorite drag queens from RuPaul’s Drag Race and beyond and all of my friends in drag, wishing me a happy birthday."

So cute! We're glad someone's still able to find happiness in all of this mess the world's in!

Recording artist and music producer Torrence Hatch Jr.—better known by his stage name Boosie Badazz—has drawn public ire after admitting to hiring an adult woman to perform sex acts for his teenage sons and nephews.

"I’m training these boys right," Boosie said during a recent Instagram Live that was screen recorded and has been making its rounds on the web. "Ask any of my nephews, ask any of them, ask my son. When they was 12, 13, they got head. Yeah, that’s how it’s supposed to be."

He continued:

"Yes, I’m right. Yes, a grown woman, grown, super-grown, super-grown."

"I'm getting them prepared, man."

As expected, many Twitter users were rightfully concerned about Boosie's admission, pointing out how toxic it is to be imposing that kind of sexuality on children while also noting the hypocrisy of his anti-LGBTQ+ and anti-trans history.

Earlier this year, Boosie made headlines for a crude, transphobic rant where he blasted NBA legend Dwyane Wade and acting icon Gabrielle Union for openly loving and supporting their 12-year-old trans daughter Zaya Wade. While many celebs, like Grammy winner Cardi B, have publicly voiced their support for Zaya and for trans rights over the past few months, Boosie refuses to apologize

Apparently it's not okay to support a preteen's right to identify how they want and how they feel, but it's okay to hire a full-grown adult to perform sex acts on a child?? Make it make sense!

The 1975 frontman says regrets sharing a risky kiss with a fan during a concert.

Matty Healy, frontman of British pop-rock band The 1975, says he now regrets a risky kiss he shared with a fan in Dubai last year

During their August 2019 concert in the highly-populated United Arab Emirates city, The 1975 performed one of their songs, "Loving Someone," with a massive gay Pride flag covering the stage background. The display incited security guards to attempt to "pull [the band] off stage" and to avoid the confrontation, Healy went down into the crowd. As he went to hug a male fan, the fan held a sign that read "Marry me" and asked Healy if he could have a kiss.

"I was like, 'Why not?'" Healy told The Sunday Timesabout the moment.

But what might've been a casual kiss for Healy made international headlines. Homosexuality is still criminalized in Dubai, and with videos of the moment spreading around social media, fans worried that a public kiss from Healy would put the fan at risk and that the government would try to arrest the man.

Healy was seemingly unbothered at first. "I really liked that boy and I am pretty sure he liked that kiss. It is not me that needs to change, it is the world that needs changing," he said at the time. But in the recent interview with The Sunday Times, he revealed that upon reflection, he might have some regrets...

"When I got to Japan I was reading about it and I felt pretty irresponsible," he said. "And then a bit, well, 'Fuck that.'"

The vocal LGBTQ+ ally went on:

"Of course I’m not going to put people in danger, but I genuinely want to be an ally for people who don’t have a voice if I happen to have this big voice in pop culture. Those are the fundamental things I stand for."

In the past, Healy has been open about finding men attractive in a non-sexual way. "The other sex is still attractive, it’s just that sex is weird, isn’t it?" he said in a 2018 interview with Shortlist. "Do you know what I mean? It’s, like, do I want to do blowjobs with a guy? No. Do I want to kiss a guy? Yeah, kind of..."

Another day, another straight person thinking something totally not gay is actually gay

This time it comes in the form of a recent tweet claiming that straight men who have lots of sexual relationships with women are actually gay. You read that right. Someone is actually claiming that a man having sex with women is a sign that he is homosexual.

"Any man who has an obscene amount of sex with a high number (of) women consistently over years is a potential undercover gay man,"Twitter user @LadeIsPower theorized. "Being a nympho/deviant is the gateway to homosexuality. It's why a lot of these rappers are gay. Eventually, you get so tired of (expletive) you begin to 'explore.'"

As expected, the reactions were hilarious:

Welp, I guess it's time to add "straight men having sex with women" to the ever-growing list of things that makes people gay, including ordering dessert, recycling, and eating crab legs...

Hell hath no fury like a femme gay who wasn't invited to a masc-only WeHo pool party! At least that's what's happening in the latest sketch from actor, comedian, and YouTube creator Jimmy Fowlie

When Jimmy's newest character Neeve, a flamboyant, wig-wearing, feminine gay man, realizes he hasn't been invited to a friend's (Matt & Dan star Matt Wilkas) pool party that just so happens to attended by some of West Hollywood's most masculine, butchiest Adonises, he takes matters into his own hands and invites himself over—with hilarious results.

"How you like me now?!?" Neeve says after putting on a camo jacket. "You think I can't butch it up?! Guess again!!"

Pose star Johnny Sibilly also makes an appearance in this funny take on the masc gay phenomenon.

Watch Neeve steal the spotlight in Jimmy Fowlie's hilarious sketch below!

Bad Bunny Wore Drag to Support the LGBTQ+ Community

#Entertainment#Celebrities#Activism#LGBTQ+Men#Guysbad-bunny-rolling-stone-drag.jpgTaylor Henderson

In a new interview with Rolling Stone, international Latin trap star Bad Bunny opened up about donning drag in his latest music video and why he supports the LGBTQ+ community

Back in March, the rapper dropped the music video for "Yo Perreo Sola" and quickly broke the internet with images of the 26-year-old in full drag. The video featured Bunny in not one, not two, but three different fierce feminine looks.

The song title translates to "I Twerk Alone" and several feminist statements were scattered throughout the video, including a sign that read "Ni Una Menos (Not One [Woman] Less)" and a disclaimer at the end that reads "Si no quiere bailar contigo, respeta. Ella perrea sola (If she doesn't want to dance with you, respect her. She twerks alone)."

"I wrote [the song] from the perspective of a woman," Bunny revealed, which is why musician Nesi sings the chorus. "I wanted a woman to sing it, because it doesn’t mean the same thing when a man sings it. But I do feel like that woman sometimes."

It seems doing drag impacted his own gender expression, comparing it to the "gender theater" of professional wrestlers he loves, and how a cousin introduced him to drag by enlisting him for Lady Gaga club mixes to perform to.

"I have always felt like there [was] a part of me that is very feminine. But I never felt as masculine as I did the day I dressed up like a drag queen."

It's a risky move in a music genre typically known for its machismo, but a no brainer for Bunny. After all, his album title literally translates to "I Do Whatever I Want."

The vocal LGBTQ+ ally says he dragged himself up to "show support to those who need it. I may not be gay, but I’m a human who cares.”

Bad Bunny also revealed that he mentally prepared himself for an onslaught of hate, but it seems like the supportive comments outweighed whatever bad he might've received. "I knew there were going to be comments saying, 'F—-t! Gay! Bad Bunny is over.'"

But both fans and celebrities spoke publically about their love for the message. "I love the video," openly gay Latinx icon Ricky Martin said. "[It’s] fun, sexy, and if it’s done by Bad Bunny, it has to be provocative."

He goes on to call Bunny a leader in the community.

"The truth is, he has become an icon for the Latin queer community," Martin continued. "He resonates with a generation that is, at the moment, discovering who they really are. It is very refreshing to witness in an industry known for its machismo."

Bunny's outspokenness is challenging norms, and his advocacy doesn't go unappreciated. Earlier this year, he showed support of a murdered Puerto Rican trans woman by wearing a shirt with her name on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. "They killed Alexa, not a man in a skirt," it read.

“I feel a big commitment to the community,” he concluded. "Now that we are in quarantine, 108 cases of gender-based violence [have been reported] in Puerto Rico. As a human being, violence against women affects me. So I am going to do what is within my reach to [work] against that. … My message shouldn’t be a feminist message. It’s a universal message."

Preach Benito! We will continue to stan!

If you were a teenager in the ‘90s, ‘00s, and even the ‘10s, you remember that rush of energy you felt the minute you smelled "Fierce" halfway across the mall.

Although Abercrombie & Fitch was the mecca of high school fashion, it was also undoubtedly the shirtless men that made the brand your all time fave. Here are 23 thoughts that crossed every closeted gay boy’s mind when shopping at Abercrombie and Fitch.

1. "The lengths I would go to be a girl and get a photo with that shirtless greeter."

2. "Don’t look him in the eyes! Mom will catch you!"

3. "AH! Don’t look at his body either!"

4. "Am I attracted to him, or do I just want to look like him when I’m older?"

5. "Both, definitely both."

6. "Ok, we made it past the live, shirtless men. Moving on to very large black-and-white photos of shirtless men."

7. "WHY ARE THEY SO HOT?!"

8. "I need to start working out."

9. "Am I too young to start working out?"

10. "OMG what if I start working out and become an Abercrombie model?! #goals"

11. "Focus on the clothes; the really, really cute clothes."

12. "OMG I love this cologne...but will it make me smell gayer or straighter?"

13. "I want this magazine so damn bad. I NEED to come back here without my mom."

14. "But wait, I can’t pay for these $80 jeans without her. WHAT IS THIS TORTURE?"

15. "I want the super hole-y jeans, but I feel like those are really gay…"

16. "Semi hole-y jeans it is."

17. "OH! Let me pair these jeans with flip-flops. Very chunky, very leathery flip-flops. Perfect!"

18. "Please don’t let me see anybody from school here."

19. "WHY IS THIS LINE SO LONG?!"

20. "Why is God punishing me by letting all the hot guy workers help me?!"

21. "If my mom wasn’t here, I would’ve totally hit on that cashier. 100%."

22. "Okay, we're leaving now. It's time to stop with the fantasies."

23. "OMG! THE DAYLIGHT! God is burning the memory of the hot A&F guys right out out of me!!"

Daniel Radcliffe is the latest star to sit down with Buzzfeed to read thirst tweets people have written about him, and the main takeaway we got from the interview was that the Harry Potter star does not enjoy being called Daddy.

As the questions get started, he warns us, "If you hear someone else laughing in the background, that is my girlfriend."

We quickly learn that Radcliffe is self-conscious about his eyebrows and doesn't like being referred to as a "small, soft boy."

Hilariously, he has no idea how to react to a tweet that reads, "Are you really gay if you didn't google 'daniel radcliffe equus naked" back then."

"Well, that is a question," he responds.

Multiple tweets refer to the 30-year-old as a daddy, and it's clear that Radcliffe does not like it. "The daddy thing weirds me out." He adds later, "I don't like this daddy kink, guys!"

You heard the man! Stop calling him Daddy!

"This has been fascinating," Radcliffe wraps up the segment before deciding to tell his parents not to watch this particular interview.

UPDATE: After receiving clarification from Amazon, God's Own Country director Francis Lee is now clapping back at distributor Samuel Goldwyn Films for the censorship of his beloved 2017 film. Lee wasn't aware the distributor was making cuts and he warns other filmmakers about working with them.

"The rental version of God’s Own Country on @PrimeVideois the correct version of my film," Lee said in a follow-up tweet. "I would like to thank Amazon Prime for being supportive and I would caution any filmmaker of working with the aforementioned 'distributor.' Thank you EVERYONE for all your support."

Read the original story below:

The director of the critically-acclaimed, romantic queer film God's Own Country is calling for a boycott of Amazon Prime's video streaming service after reports of alleged censorship began to surface and make their way across the web.

Francis Lee, who PRIDE had the privilege of talking to when the film was originally released back in 2017, has rightfully taken issue with the streaming service's removal of sex scenes from his film about two male, European farmworkers who fall in love.

"Dear friends in USA, God’s Own Country appears to have been censored on @PrimeVideo (Amazon Prime)," Lee said in a statement on his Twitter account. "Until this is investigated please do not rent or buy on Amazon Prime. It is not the film I intended or made."

Fans of the film were more than happy to be a part of Lee's call for a boycott.

According to reporting from our sister publication Out, an Amazon Prime representative insists that the company themselves did not censor the film's sex scenes, but that the edited version that was available for streaming was uploaded by the provider Samuel Goldwyn Films. It's also worth noting that the version of the film that is available for purchase (not streaming) is the film's original cut and is not censored.

The film follows Johnny (Josh O’Connor), a hardened Yorkshire man who is in charge of the labor of caring for his family’s farm and his ailing father—the likes of which seem to be taking a toll on him emotionally. But when a Romanian migrant worker named Gheorghe (Alec Secareanu) comes to lend an extra hand, his presence shakes up Johnny’s life, and the two enter a whirlwind romance. The film was notable for having a happy ending and for giving audiences a view of masculinity that can be soft, caring, gentle, tender, and compassionate.
